They saw a great opportunity to enter the country earlier than competitors so that they could cement their place in the market. India, another country with a giant population, is also a country that OSI Group has established a big presence in. In this country they have a cooperative agreement in place with Vista Processed Foods which is a well-respected food supplier.
OSI Group has been expanding in Europe since the 1980’s. This includes Eastern Europe, such as Poland where they established a processing plant in 2012. They have been in Poland since the 1990’s as well as other countries such as Sweden, Finland, the Baltic States, and Slovakia. Also ni 2012, OSI Group spent $25 million expanding the chicken processing plant they have in Hungary.
